Leatherworker in Devon

Louise is a Leatherworker in Devon and the founder of LG Leatherworks, a luxury handmade products business creating handbags, wallets, belts, dog accessories and much more. Louise also takes on commissions, repairs and hosts workshop day experiences for creative people to come and learn the skill of hand stitched leather work in the tranquillity of her Shepherd’s hut workshop on Dartmoor, Devon.

Having completed many courses, starting with a introduction to leatherwork course then moving onto creating leather handbags and restoration of leather goods with Val Michael and Neil Mcgregor in beautiful Tetbury. Followed by a bridlework course in Shropshire to name a few. Louise started selling her products at craft shows and events in December 2017. As all in person events were off the cards in 2020/21 Louise focussed on selling online. Louise has also had her products featured in magazines such as Country Life, Sloan!, Your Dog and Horse and Hound to name a few. More recently LG Leatherworks has been awarded ‘Best Luxury Handmade Leather Products Retailer 2024 – UK’ by Luxelife magazine.

Louise has two daughters, a black lab and two quarter horses. In her spare time Louise can be found spending time with her family, riding over the moors or taking part in western riding competitions.

For the future Louise is looking forward to meeting people in person at events and providing luxury leather goods for people who want to get away from fast fashion and spend their money wisely on heirloom products made to last.
