Customising Your Leather Dog Collar: Adding a Personal Touch

A leather dog collar is more than just an accessory—it’s a reflection of your pet’s personality and style. With a wide range of customisation options, you can create a unique collar that’s as special as your furry friend. Here’s how you can add a personal touch to your dog’s leather collar.

1. Personalised Name Embossing

One of the most popular customisation options is adding your pet’s name directly onto the collar. By embossing directly into the leather, you can achieve a distinct and stylish identifier for your dog that won’t get lost. When ordering a collar with an embossed name please only request a name with seven characters or under.

2. Custom Colours

Leather dog collars don’t have to come in just the standard brown or black. Opt for custom colours like deep burgundy, or even vibrant shades like blue or red. When choosing a padded collar you have the options of deciding on a base colour and a contrasting or matching padding colour.

3. Different Leather Types

You can select from two types of leather, the bridle leather collars are perfect if you have a dog that is strong on the lead or who needs a robust collar for adventures. Alternatively we also have veg tan leather collars that are available in a range of bright colours but are only suitable for dogs that don’t pull on the lead as they may stretch.

4. Custom Hardware and Buckles

The hardware on your dog’s collar—such as the buckle and D-ring—can also be customised. Choose from polished brass, or stainless steel to complement the leather. We use brass as standard for our collars but can provide stainless steel on request. All hardware is British made.

5. Unique Stitching and Edge Finishes

You can customise the stitching on the collar to add contrast or blend in with the leather. Opt for contrasting colors like bright red thread on black leather, or choose matching thread for a more subtle finish. Additionally, hand-burnished edges gives the collar a clean, high-quality look that stands out.

6. Collar Width and Length Options

Custom collars can be made in various widths and lengths to suit your dog’s size and comfort level. A wider, thicker collar might be ideal for larger breeds, while smaller dogs could benefit from a lightweight, narrow design that doesn’t weigh them down.

8. Monograms or Symbols

For a sophisticated touch, you can add a monogram or a special symbol, like a paw print or heart, embossed onto the collar. This subtle but stylish addition adds a sense of luxury and individuality to your dog’s look. Please enquire if you would like this option so we can advise you on the options.

9. Matching Leads and Sets

Complete the look by customising a matching leather lead or set for your dog. Coordinating colours, materials, and styles between the collar and lead create a polished, cohesive appearance when you’re out for walks.

Conclusion

With so many customisation options, you can easily customise your leather dog collar. A leather dog collar can be transformed into a bespoke accessory that reflects both your pet’s personality and your unique style. Whether through personalised embossing, vibrant colors, or custom hardware, each collar becomes a one-of-a-kind creation that elevates your dog’s wardrobe.
